Following the incident, his death was reported to his family as a suicide.
The body of Seyed Mohammad Hosseini was transferred to a hospital and the forensic medicine department, but no documentation was provided to the family. Security forces threatened the family to declare the cause of death as suicide. Eventually, under pressure, his body was handed over to the family and buried in the Aichi Cemetery in Saqqez.
Maliheh Hassannejad, the mother of Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, passed away on 8 July after being hospitalised in a coma due to a stroke. After her death, more details of the incident were revealed.
The pressures and threats on the Hosseini family led to their prolonged silence regarding the incident. Additionally, the similarity of his name with another deceased individual from Saqqez contributed to the delay in the incident's disclosure.

پیکر سید محمد حسینی به بیمارستان و پزشکی قانونی منتقل شد، اما هیچ مدرکی به خانواده تحویل داده نشد. نیروهای امنیتی خانواده را تهدید کردند که علت مرگ را خودکشی اعلام کنند. در نهایت، پیکر او با اعمال فشار به خانواده تحویل داده شد و در آرامستان آیچی سقز به خاک سپرده شد.
ملیحە حسن نژاد، مادر سید محمد حسینی، پس از بستری شدن در کما به دلیل سکته، در تاریخ 18 تیرماه درگذشت. پس از مرگ او، جزئیات بیشتری از حادثه فاش شد.
