در 20 مهر 1401، گزارش شده است که سید محمد حسینی، اهل سقز، در جریان اعتراضات مردمی در «مسکن مهر» کوهدشت و در هنگام اعتراض به تخریب خودروی شهروندان، توسط یک خودرو با سرعت بالا زیر گرفته شده و جان خود را از دست داده است. پیکر سید محمد حسینی در 22 مهر 1401 تحت تدابیر امنیتی در آرامستان سقز به خاک سپرده شد.
