Amir Hesam Khodayari, a young man from Kuhdasht, was buried on 2 January 2026 in a remote mountainous area outside the city. His body had reportedly been withheld by the authorities until his family agreed to identify him as a member of the Basij. During the funeral, his father publicly stated that Amir Hesam had not been a Basij member but was simply a protester.
The funeral became the scene of a confrontation between mourners and security forces. According to reports, protesters drove the security forces away and tore the flag of the Islamic Republic that had been draped over Amir Hesam's coffin.
Amir Hesam Khodayari was killed by security forces on 31 December 2025. Eyewitnesses reported that he was shot by a retired member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who was dressed in civilian clothing. Following his death, state authorities claimed that he had been a Basij member and had been killed by protesters.
His family resisted official pressure, succeeded in recovering his body, and rejected the official account of his death. At the funeral, his father publicly declared that his son had never been affiliated with the Basij and entrusted justice for his death to God.
Amir Hesam belonged to the Mir Beg tribe and was a follower of the Yarsan faith. He was raised in a working-class family and occasionally worked alongside his father as a laborer to help support the household.
امیرحسام خدایاری، جوان کوهدشتی، در تاریخ ۱۲ دی ۱۴۰۴ در منطقه ای کوهستانی و دور از شهر به خاک سپرده شد. پیکر او به عنوان گروگان جمهوری اسلامی نگهداری شده بود تا خانواده اش بپذیرند که او را بسیجی معرفی کنند. پدر امیرحسام در میان سوگواران اعلام کرد که فرزندش بسیجی نبوده و تنها معترض بوده است.
مراسم خاکسپاری به محلی برای رویارویی مردم معترض و سوگوار با نیروهای امنیتی تبدیل شد. معترضان با هجوم به سمت نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی، آن ها را فراری دادند و پرچم جمهوری اسلامی که روی تابوت امیرحسام کشیده شده بود را پاره کردند.
امیرحسام خدایاری در تاریخ ۱۰ دی ۱۴۰۴ با سلاح نیروهای امنیتی به قتل رسید. شاهدان عینی اعلام کردند که یک سپاهی بازنشسته در پوشش لباس شخصی او را کشته است. پس از این حادثه، جمهوری اسلامی شایعه کرد که امیرحسام بسیجی بوده و توسط معترضان به قتل رسیده است.
خانواده امیرحسام در برابر فشارهای حکومتی مقاومت کردند و توانستند پیکر فرزندشان را پس بگیرند و روایت جمهوری اسلامی را تغییر دهند. پدر امیرحسام در مراسم خاکسپاری با صدای بلند اعلام کرد که پسرش هیچ عضویتی در بسیج نداشته و انتقام خون او را به خدا واگذار کرد.
امیرحسام جوانی از طایفه میر بیگ اهل یارسان بود که در خانواده ای کارگر بزرگ شد و خود نیز گاهی برای تأمین معاش همراه پدرش کارگری می کرد.
