آیت درخشان پنج شنبه ۱۸دی۱۴۰۴ در اعتراضات «اسلامشهر» هدف شلیک نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی قرار گرفت و بعد از یک هفته در بیمارستان جان داد. دلیل مرگ او سرایت عفونت ناشی از گلوله جنگی عنوان شده است. آیت درخشان اهل «سراب» بود و ساکن اسلامشهر. او پدر دو کودک یازدهم و ۹ ساله بود. پیکر آیت درخشان را در آرامگاه اسلامشهر به خاک سپردند.
