Hossein Akbari

Hossein Akbari was subjected to physical assault by government supporters during a protest against the presidential election results on 15 June 2009. Despite efforts by his family to locate him through visits to the Revolutionary Court and Evin Prison, they were unable to obtain any information about his whereabouts. On 22 July 2009, his body was handed over to the family at Imam Khomeini Hospital. The exact date of his death is unknown, but it was reported to be due to a "brain injury." His body showed signs of baton strikes. On 26 July 2009, he was buried at Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in Tehran, next to his mother's grave. He was 16 when he died.
