Sepehr Khaleghi, 28 years old, was injured in Tehran on November 15, 2022, when a tear gas canister was directly shot into his right eye. He has undergone two eye surgeries so far, but unfortunately, the eye could not be saved.
Sepehr now continues his life with a prosthetic eye.
Sepehr had a freelance job, which he is currently unable to continue. He is the son of a 70% disabled veteran, a man who lost a leg, a kidney, and his spleen in the Iran-Iraq war.
In Sepehr's Instagram live sessions, one encounters a cheerful and somewhat humorous young man.
In the caption of his only post, Sepehr wrote about realizing it was morning after a few moments, seeing the ceiling, and recalling his mother's words about waking up and opening one eye to understand how the world looks with one eye. He reflects on how two eyes see the unblemished white ceiling, while one eye remains closed, wounded by the enemy. He speaks of the hardship and sorrow of a child who, for years, must open only one eye each morning and see the ceiling with just one eye.

سپهر خالقی ۲۸ ساله، در ۲۴ آبان ۱۴۰۱، در تهران با شلیک مستقیم گاز اشک آور به چشم راست آسیب می بیند.
او تا کنون دو عمل چشم داشته که متاسفانه چشم احیا نمی شود و از دست می رود.
سپهر اینک با چشم مصنوعی در صورت خود، به زندگی ادامه می دهد.
سپهر شغل آزاد داشته که در شرایط کنونی ناتوان از ادامه آن است. او فرزند یک جانباز ۷۰ درصد است؛ مردی که در جنگ ایران و عراق یک پا، کلیه و طحالش را از دست داده است.

سپهر در کپشن تنها پستی که دارد نوشته است: «بعد از چند لحظه می فهمم صبح شده... سقف را میبینم و یاد حرف مادرم می افتم که می گفت، صبح ها بیدار که می شوم یک چشمم را باز می کنم تا بفهمم، وقتی تو، صبح بیدار میشی، اولین تصویری که میبینی چطوری است؟ با یک چشم چطوری دنیا را میبینی دو چشم سقف را می بیند سفیدی بی خط و خش سقف را، و دو چشم بسته اند ، یک چشم زخم خصم... روزگار و دیگر غم فرزندی که سالها باید هر صبح فقط یک چشم را باز کند تنها با یک چشم سقف را ببیند.»
