لیا لطفعلیان در تاریخ 19 دی ماه 1404 در جریان اعتراضات مردمی در منطقه تهرانپارس تهران با شلیک گلوله نیروهای امنیتی جان باخت. او حین کمک رسانی به مجروحان هدف قرار گرفت و پیکرش پس از 12 روز پیگیری و از طریق انگشت نگاری در کهریزک به خانواده تحویل داده شد.
