Ashkan, originally from the Arab community of Khuzestan, had relocated with his family to Tehran several years ago due to his job. He was employed at a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Karaj. His mother had passed away from cancer a few years prior.
Ashkan participated in all the protests. During a protest in Shahriar on a Thursday, when the situation became chaotic, his companions advised him to return, but he continued on his path and did not return. He was struck by a bullet in the head.
After he failed to return home, his family began searching for him but were unable to locate him. Eventually, he was found in Kahrizak. His father spent several days trying to obtain permission to retrieve and bury the body.
At that time, a large number of bodies had been brought to the location, and families were gradually being allowed to collect them. Reports indicated that many of those killed in Tehran were transported outside the city and buried in other locations, with families only being informed of the burial sites.
Ashkan's cousin, Mohammad Ali Arar, who was 32 years old, was also killed by gunfire in Shushtar during the same period.
اشکان از عرب های خوزستان بود و خانواده اش چند سال پیش به دلیل شغل او از جنوب به تهران نقل مکان کرده بودند. او در کارخانه تولید دارو در کرج مشغول به کار بود. مادرش چند سال پیش به دلیل سرطان درگذشته بود.
اشکان در تمام اعتراضات حضور داشت. در جریان اعتراضات در شهریار، در روز پنج شنبه، هنگامی که فضا شلوغ شد، همراهانش به او توصیه کردند که برگردد، اما او به راه خود ادامه داد و دیگر بازنگشت. گلوله ای به سر او اصابت کرد.
پس از تأخیر در بازگشت به خانه، خانواده اش به جستجوی او پرداختند اما نتوانستند او را پیدا کنند. پس از مدتی، او را در کهریزک یافتند. پدرش چند روز تلاش کرد تا اجازه بگیرد که جسد را تحویل بگیرند و دفن کنند.
در آن زمان، تعداد زیادی از اجساد به آنجا آورده شده بود و به تدریج به خانواده ها اجازه داده می شد که اجساد را تحویل بگیرند. گزارش هایی وجود داشت که بسیاری از کشته شدگان تهران به خارج از شهر منتقل شده و در مکان های دیگری دفن شدند و به خانواده ها فقط محل دفن اطلاع داده شد.
پسرعموی اشکان، محمدعلی عرار ۳۲ ساله، نیز در همان روزها در شوشتر با شلیک گلوله کشته شد.
