On Thursday, January 8, Mohammad Saleh Zarif Moghaddam was shot with live ammunition during a protest on Sattarkhan Street in Tehran and, after falling to the ground, was killed by a final shot from Basij forces.
Mohammad Saleh was 28 years old and the father of a young child.
On January 8, Mohammad Saleh, along with a friend, was among the crowd on Sattarkhan heading towards Ariashahr. When the authorities began firing live bullets at the crowd, both he and his friend were hit. Mohammad Saleh, an athlete and boxing coach, was shot in the side when he fell to the ground. Despite this, Basij forces severely beat him.
Eyewitnesses reported that while Mohammad Saleh's friends were trying to take him to the hospital, a Basij officer shot him in the forehead, killing him.
His body was identified by his mother. Security forces told Mohammad Saleh's mother that she must sign a statement saying he was a "Basij" member killed by "enemy agents."
Mohammad Saleh's family resisted this demand, resulting in his body being held by security agencies for four days. On the fifth day, January 13, 2026, the family was able to retrieve his body in exchange for 200 million tomans.
A source close to the family stated that the initial amount requested by the security agencies was 700 million tomans.
He was buried on January 13, 2026, at Behesht Zahra in Tehran.
During the burial ceremony, despite threats from security agencies, a group of attendees chanted slogans against the government and the officials of the Islamic Republic.

«محمدصالح ظریف مقدم» روز پنجشنبه ۱۸ دی ماه در تظاهرات خیابان ستارخان در تهران هدف شلیک تیر جنگی قرار گرفت و پس از افتادن روی زمین با تیر خلاص ماموران بسیج کشته شد.
محمدصالح ۲۸ساله و پدر یک کودک خردسال بود.
روز ۱۸دی محمدصالح همراه با یکی از دوستانش در میان سیل جمعیت حاضر در ستارخان به سمت «آریاشهر» بود. وقتی ماموران شروع به شلیک گلوله جنگی به مردم کردند او و دوستش هم تیر خوردند. محمدصالح ورزشکار و مربی بوکس بود. وقتی به زمین افتاد یک تیر پهلویش خورده بود. با این همه ماموران بسیج او را به شدت مورد ضرب و شتم قرار دادند.
شاهدان عینی می گویند در حالی که دوستان محمدصالح تلاش می کردند او را به بیمارستان منتقل کنند مامور بسیجی یک گلوله دیگری به پیشانی او شلیک کرد و او را کشت.
شناسایی پیکر محمدصالح توسط مادرش انجام شد. ماموران امنیتی به مادر محمدصالح می گویند باید امضا کنی که او «بسیجی» بوده و توسط «عوامل دشمن» کشته شده است.
خانواده محمدصالح دربرابر این خواست مقاومت کردند به همین سبب هم به مدت چهار روز پیکر او توسط نهادهای امنیتی ضبط شد. در روز پنجم در تاریخ ۲۳دی۱۴۰۴ خانواده محمدصالح در ازای مبلغ ۲۰۰میلیون تومان موفق به تحویل پیکر شدند.
یک منبع نزدیک به این خانواده گفته است مبلغ مورد درخواست نهادهای امنیتی در ابتدا ۷۰۰ میلیون تومان بود.
پیکر او ۲۳دی۱۴۰۴در بهشت زهرای تهران به خاک سپرده شد.
در جریان مراسم خاکسپاری جمعی از حاضران به رغم تهدید نهادهای امنیتی علیه حکومت و مقامات جمهوری اسلامی شعار دادند.
