Saeed Yaghoubi Kord Sofla

Saeed Yaghoubi Kordsofli was involved in the nationwide protests in Iran and was executed on 19 May 2023 in connection with the Isfahan House case on charges of waging war against God. Saleh Mirhashemi Boltaghi and Majid Kazemi Sheikh Shabani were also executed in relation to the same case. In the days leading up to the executions, prominent figures and human rights organisations called for a halt to these executions, and gatherings were held in front of Dastgerd Prison.

Following the Supreme Court's ruling and the broadcast of forced confessions, families and some citizens gathered in front of the prison to protest and prevent the executions. On the evening of Sunday, 14 May, information suggesting the possible execution of the three protesters involved in the Isfahan House case led to a gathering of people in front of Dastgerd Prison. The gathering at the central prison in Isfahan began late on Sunday night, with people arriving in vehicles around the prison, demanding a halt to the execution of the sentence.

A group of legal experts and lawyers sent a letter to the head of the judiciary and the judges of the Supreme Court, urging an immediate halt to the execution of sentences in all cases, particularly for the three defendants in the Isfahan House case. Additionally, requests were made to the United Nations and the Human Rights Council to take action to stop the execution of these three protesters.

After the execution of the defendants in the case known as the Isfahan House, pressure on their families increased. Two brothers of Majid Kazemi were arrested, and their sister was also detained while following up on their situation. The mother of Saleh Mirhashemi reported that government forces handcuffed her husband and did not allow them to hold a ceremony.
