Fatemeh Samsarpour was one of the victims of the protests against the results of Iran's tenth presidential election, who was killed by a bullet on June 20, 2009.

Fatemeh Samsarpour, a homemaker from Babol and mother of two children, was involved in an incident during the evening of 20 June. While protests were being heavily suppressed on Azadi Street in Tehran, Ms. Samsarpour and her two children were at their home at the intersection of Khush Shomali and Sina Alley. Upon hearing explosions and commotion outside, they went out to investigate. At that time, plainclothes forces were pursuing demonstrators into the alley.

A neighbour raised their hands, pleading with the officers not to shoot to prevent the building's gas pipe from exploding. However, an officer first shot the neighbour in the leg and then immediately shot Ms. Samsarpour in the chest. The same officer subsequently shot the family's elder son in the abdomen. The younger son witnessed these events from the window of their room. Ms. Samsarpour was taken to Shahriar Hospital, but due to blocked streets and insufficient medical staff at the time, she passed away. The cause of death was reported as a bullet wound to the heart from a 9mm pistol.

Her body was buried the same night in Babol under heavy security pressure and in the absence of extended family members, due to fears of intervention by authorities.

Government officials never accepted responsibility for the killing, attributing it to "foreign agents." However, provincial representatives privately acknowledged to the family that she was wrongfully killed.

Efforts by the family's lawyer to identify the perpetrator were unsuccessful. The court declared the perpetrator unidentified and effectively closed the case, offering compensation, which the family rejected.
