Majid Rezaei

On 15 July, Majid Rezaei, a civil activist, was arrested by security forces at his residence in Tehran and transferred to Evin Prison. Reports indicate that his arrest was carried out to enforce a nine-month prison sentence.

Majid Rezaei had been summoned to the First Branch of the Enforcement of Judgments of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Tehran on 22 May to serve his sentence. He had previously been sentenced by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to one year of imprisonment on charges of propaganda against the regime. This sentence was reduced to nine months upon appeal. Additionally, he was sentenced to three months of providing four hours of daily community service and attending emotional control and psychological counselling sessions as supplementary punishment.

The court session addressing Majid Rezaei's charges was held on 27 February 2021. Furthermore, a non-prosecution order was issued for his wife, Fariba Faridouni, in connection with the same case.

This individual was arrested along with his wife by IRGC intelligence officers in Khomein on 24 July 2020 and was released on bail on 13 August of the same year.
