در تاریخ 30 آبان 1401، جوهر فتاحی اهل جوانرود در جریان اعتراضات مردمی این شهر و پس از مراسم خاکسپاری بهاءالدین ویسی و عرفان کاکایی کشته شد. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که نیروهای حکومتی به شرکت کنندگان در این مراسم و معترضان تیراندازی کردند و تحسین میری در خیابان «انصار» با شلیک مستقیم گلوله جان باخت.
