On Sunday, August 6, 2023, Sabine Yazdani, a Baha'i citizen residing in Karaj, the capital of Alborz Province, was arrested after being summoned to the enforcement branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Karaj. She was transferred to Kachouii Prison in Karaj to serve a three-year prison sentence.
The arrest of Sabine Yazdani was carried out for her to serve this three-year sentence.
It is noteworthy that in mid-February 2023, Sabine Yazdani was tried by the Revolutionary Court of Karaj. She was convicted on charges of acting against national security by participating in and forming a group to disrupt the country's security through promoting the Baha'i faith among children and adolescents, propaganda against the sacred law of Islam through coaching education, and insulting and engaging in propaganda against the sacred law of Islam. She was sentenced to three years in prison, a fine of 30 million tomans, five years of deprivation of social rights, a two-year travel ban, two years of exile from Alborz Province to a non-adjacent province, and a two-year ban on educational and cultural activities.
After an appeal was filed and the case was referred to Branch 12 of the Alborz Province Court of Appeals, the initial verdict against this Baha'i citizen was upheld and communicated to her in late June 2023.
Sabine Yazdani was arrested in August and September 2022 during widespread raids by the Ministry of Intelligence on the homes of Baha'i citizens in Alborz Province, along with 12 other Baha'i citizens. After completing interrogation and being formally charged, she was released on bail.
On August 1, 2022, the Ministry of Intelligence issued a statement alleging that these home searches and arrests were due to the involvement of these Baha'i citizens in espionage for Israel.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، امروز یکشنبه ۱۵ مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، سابین یزدانی، شهروند بهایی، ساکن کرج مرکز استان البرز، پس از احضار به شعبه اجرای احکام دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب کرج، بازداشت و برای سپری کردن دوران حبس تعزیری ۳ ساله خود به زندان کچویی کرج منتقل شد.
براساس این گزارش، بازداشت سابین یزدانی، برای سپری کردن دوران حبس تعزیری ۳ ساله این شهروند بهایی صورت گرفته است.
لازم به اشاره است، سابین یزدانی، اواسط بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط شعبه دادگاه انقلاب کرج محاکمه و از بابت اتهامات (اقدام علیه امنیت ملی از طریق شرکت و تشکیل گروه اداره اشخاص به قصد برهم زدن امنیت کشور از طریق تریج دیانت بهایی در میان کودکان و نوجوانان)، (تبلیغ بر علیه شرع مقدس اسلام از طریق آموزش کوچینگ)، (توهین و فعالیت تبلیغی علیه شرع مقدس اسلام) به تحمل ۳ سال حبس تعزیری، پرداخت۳۰ میلیون تومان جریمه نقدی، ۵ سال محروم از حقوق اجتماعی، ۲ سال منع خروج از کشور، ۲ سال تبعید از استان البرز به یکی از استان های غیرهمجوار و ۲ سال منع فعالیت های آموزشی و فرهنگی محکوم شد.
پس از اعلام اعتراض و ارجاع پرونده سابین یزدانی به شعبه ۱۲ دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان البرز، حکم صادره بدوی بر علیه این شهروند بهایی، عینا تائید و اوااخر خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، به وی ابلاغ شد.
سابین یزدانی، در جریان یورشهای گسترده ماموران وزارت اطلاعات در مرداد و شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۱، به منازل شهروندان بهایی در استان البرز به همراه ۱۲ تن دیگر از شهروندان بهایی، بازداشت و پس از اتمام مراحل بازجويی و تفهیم اتهام با قید وثیقه آزاد شده بود.
در تاریخ ۱۰ مردادماه ۱۴۰۱، وزارت اطلاعات، با انتشار اطلاعیه ای مدعی شد این تفتیش منازل و بازداشت ها به علت ارتکاب این شهروندان بهایی به جاسوسی برای اسرائیل بوده است.
