On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Masoud Arshia Vazifeh, a civil activist residing in Tehran, was sentenced by Judge Iman Afshari, head of Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, to two years of imprisonment and additional penalties.
According to the verdict issued by Judge Iman Afshari, which was communicated to Masoud Arshia Vazifeh, this civil activist was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for the charge of membership in groups with the intent to disrupt national security. Additionally, he was sentenced to a two-year ban on membership in political, social, and cultural parties and groups as a supplementary punishment.
A knowledgeable source stated that Mr. Vazifeh has appealed the verdict and is awaiting the outcome of the appeal.
This civil activist, residing in Tehran, was arrested on August 9, 2023, by Ministry of Intelligence agents and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison for interrogation and case processing. After undergoing investigation and being charged, he was moved to Ward 4 quarantine section of Evin Prison and was released on August 17, 2023, on bail of 500 million tomans.
It is worth noting that Masoud Arshia Vazifeh was also arrested at dawn on September 4, 2022, following a raid by Ministry of Intelligence agents on his parental home, during which his home was searched and some personal items were confiscated. He was taken for interrogation and case processing to Ward 209 of the security organization and then to Ward 240 of the Judiciary's Protection Information. He underwent intensive interrogations and was transferred from Ward 240 of Evin Prison to Greater Tehran Prison in December 2022. On February 21, 2023, he was conditionally released following the closure of his legal case in accordance with a recent directive from the judiciary.
Previously, on February 4, 2021, this civil activist was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Varamin and, after being transferred to Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence and undergoing interrogation, was moved to Greater Tehran Prison and released in the fall of 2021.
On October 2, 2021, Masoud Arshia Vazifeh was tried by the Revolutionary Court of Shahriar on charges of assisting in propaganda activities against the regime and was sentenced to six months of imprisonment.
After the announcement of this verdict and the prosecutor of Shahriar's objection to the leniency of the sentences issued for the defendants, the case was referred to the appeals court.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز پنجشنبه ۲۴ اسفند ماه ۱۴۰۲، مسعود ارشیا وظیفه، فعال مدنی، ساکن تهران، توسط قاضی ایمان اقشاری ـ رئیس شعبه ۲۶ دادگاه انقلاب تهران، به تحمل ۲ سال حبس تعزیری و مجازات تکمیلی محکوم شد.
براساس دادنامه صادره توسط قاضی ایمان افشاری که به مسعود ارشیا وظیفه ابلاغ شده این فعال مدنی از بابت اتهام عضویت در گروه و دسته جات معاند به قصد برهم زدن امنیت کشور به تحمل ۲ سال حبس تعزیری و بعنوان مجازات تکمیلی هم به ۲ سال منع عضویت دراحزاب، گروهها و دسته جات اجتماعی، سیاسی و فرهنگی، محکوم شده است.
به نقل از یک فرد مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”آقای وظیفه پس از ابلاغ حکم به آن اعتراض کرده و در انتظار نتیجه تجدیدنظرخواهی است.”
این فعال مدنی ساکن تهران، در تاریخ ۱۸ مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، توسط ماموران وزارت اطلاعات، بازداشت و برای بازجویی و تشکیل پرونده به بند ۲۰۹ آن نهاد امنیتی واقع در زندان اوین، منتقل و پی از طی مراحل بازپرسی و تفهیم اتهام به اندرزگاه ۴ بند قرنطینه زندان اوین، منتقل و در تاریخ ۲۶ مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، با تودیع قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۵۰۰ میلیون تومان، آزاد شد.
لازم به اشاره است، مسعود ارشیا وظیفه، در سحرگاه ۱۳ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۱ هم پس از یورش ماموران وزارت اطلاعات به منزل پدری وی و تفتیش منزل و توقیف برخی لوازم شخصی اش بازداشت و جهت بازجوئی و تشکیل پرونده به بند ۲۰۹ آن ارگان امنیتی و سپس بند ۲۴۰ حفاظت اطلاعات قوه قضائیه منتقل شد و طی مدن تحت بازجوئی های فشرده قرار گرفت و در دی ماه ۱۴۰۱، از بند ۲۴۰ زندان اوین به زندان تهران بزرگ منتقل و در تاریخ ۲ اسفند ماه ۱۴۰۱، در راستای اجرای بخشنامه اخیر قوه قضاییه پس از مختومه شدن پرونده قضایی اش وی بطور مشروط آزاد شده بود.
این فعال مدنی، پیشتر هم در تاریخ ۱۶ بهمن ماه ۱۳۹۹، توسط ماموران وزارت اطلاعات در شهرستان ورامین، بازداشت و پس از انتقال به بند ۲۰۹ وزارت اطلاعات و طی مراحل بازجوئی به زندان تهران بزرگ منتقل و در پائیز ماه ۱۴۰۰، آزاد شده بود.
مسعود ارشیا وظیفه، در تاریخ ۱۰ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۰، توسط شعبه دادگاه انقلاب شهرستان شهریار با اتهام معاونت در فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام محاکمه و به تحمل ۶ ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شد.
پس از ابلاغ این حکم و اعتراض دادستان شهرقدس مبنی بر کم بودن میزان احکام صادره برای متهمان، پرونده شعبه دادگاه تجدیدنظر ارجاع شده بود.
