Reza Dormishian, a screenwriter and film director, was barred from leaving Iran on November 22, 2022, when he was attempting to leave the country through Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport. His passport was confiscated by security officials. His support for the nationwide protests in 2022 and posts published on his Instagram page were cited among the reasons for the travel ban.
His lawyer announced that a judicial case had been opened against his client on charges of “propaganda against the regime,” and that the case was being heard by Branch 7 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
According to the lawyer, the prosecutor’s office had issued an arrest order for his client, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as the complainant in the case, had requested the seizure of Reza Dormishian’s assets.

وکیل وی، از تشکیل پرونده قضایی برای موکلش، به اتهام «تبلیغ علیه نظام» و رسیدگی به این پرونده در شعبه هفتم دادگاه انقلاب تهران خبر داد.
به گفته این وکیل، در دادسرا برای موکلش «قرار جلب» صادر شده و سپاه پاسداران، به عنوان شاکی پرونده، درخواست توقیف اموال رضا درمیشیان را مطرح کرده است.
