Elaheh Fooladi

Elaheh Fouladi, born in 1978 and a resident of Khalkhal, was arrested along with her husband by security forces and transferred to Evin Prison in February 2020. She was eventually released on bail in late July 2020 after the completion of interrogation procedures.

During the judicial process, Elaheh Fouladi was tried by a judge at the Tehran Revolutionary Court. She was sentenced to five years of imprisonment for "assembly and collusion with the intent to disrupt national security" and an additional one year for "propaganda activities against the regime."

After the completion of the judicial process and the issuance of the final verdict, Elaheh Fouladi was arrested on 12 December 2023 to serve her prison sentence and was transferred to Evin Prison.

According to a report by the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners in Iran on 4 May 2026, another case was filed against her following her protest against the death of Somayeh Rashidi in Farchak Prison. Reports indicate that Rashidi's death occurred due to inadequate medical attention and delays in transferring her to a hospital.

Elaheh Fouladi suffers from a heart condition, and the harsh conditions in prison have exacerbated her illness.
