پویا با پدربزرگ و مادربزرگش زندگی می کرد و به دلیل شرایط دشوار مالی از سنین پایین مشغول به کار شده بود تا بخشی از هزینه های زندگی را تامین کند. نزدیکان او می گویند وی با وجود مشکلات اقتصادی تلاش می کرد زندگی خود و خانواده اش را بهبود ببخشد.
