Soleiman Shokri

Soleiman Shakari, a resident of Bukan, passed away due to severe injuries in a hospital in Urmia. The young protester was severely injured in the head and face by pellet gunfire and baton strikes during the protests in Bukan on 17 November 2022. He was transferred to a hospital in Urmia for medical treatment.

Reports indicate that Soleiman Shakari was severely injured near the Simorgh Hall in Bukan by shotgun fire and baton strikes. He was initially taken to Bukan Hospital and later transferred to Khomeini Hospital in Urmia due to the severity of his condition. He ultimately passed away on 20 November 2022 due to bleeding and severe injuries.

Security agencies held his body at the forensic medicine facility for two days and required the family to pay a sum for its release. This amount was collected by the people of Bukan for the family.

His body was handed over to the family at midnight and was buried at four in the morning in Bukan, with limited attendance from family and a few relatives.

During the memorial service at the Qoba Mosque, the mosque was monitored by security forces, and the holding of the third, seventh, and fortieth-day ceremonies was prevented. Nevertheless, people from Bukan visited his grave and chanted protest slogans. Soleiman Shakari Yaskandi, the son of Kabri and Osman, was born on 6 January 1994 in Bukan.
