On Thursday, 2 Bahman 1404 (January 22, 2026), Hossein Akrami, a 39-year-old citizen, father of two, and resident of Surak County in Mazandaran province, who had been injured in the leg by a live bullet fired by government forces during the public protests at Shohada Square in Sari, died two weeks later due to delayed hospital transfer and severe infection.
This citizen was injured on Thursday, 18 Dey 1404 (January 8, 2026) by direct fire from government forces and, fearing arrest, did not seek timely medical attention.
Hossein Akrami, a resident of Sorke, Mazandaran and father of two sons, was injured by a gunshot to the leg. His leg was amputated, but the wound and pain persisted, and he passed away two weeks later.
