Mozhgan Kavousi, a researcher and writer, was transferred to Tonkabon prison yesterday, December 18, to serve a 39-month discretionary imprisonment sentence.
Mozhgan Kavousi, a follower of the Yarsan faith and resident of Kelardasht, was arrested on September 22, 2022, during the Women, Life, Freedom movement. She was released from prison in December on a 3 billion Toman bail. She was tried in branch one of the Revolutionary Court of Sari on charges of "corruption on earth, spreading lies, inciting people to war and massacre, and collaborating with the hostile government". She was sentenced to five years and two months of discretionary imprisonment, which was reduced to 39 months on appeal.
Mozhgan Kavousi was also arrested during the November 2019 protests and was sentenced to three years of discretionary imprisonment. She was released from Kachuei Karaj prison in December 2021 after serving her sentence.

مژگان کاووسی که پیرو آیین یارسان و ساکن کلاردشت است، در روز ۳۱ شهریور ۱۴۰۱ و در جریان جنبش زن، زندگی، آزادی بازداشت شد و در دیماه با قرار وثیقه ۳ میلیارد تومانی از زندان آزاد شده بود. او در شعبه یک دادگاه انقلاب ساری با اتهامات «افسادفی الارض، نشر اکاذیب، و تحریک مردم به جنگ و کشتار و همکاری با دولت متخاصم» محاکمه شد و به پنج سال و دو ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شد که این حکم در دادگاه تجدیدنظر به ۳۹ ماه حبس تعزیری کاهش یافت.
مژگان کاووسی در جریان اعتراضات آبان ماه ۹۸ نیز بازداشت، به سه سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شد که در دی ماه سال ۱۴۰۰ پس از اتمام دوران محکومیتش از زندان کچوئی کرج آزاد شده بود.
