He was shot in the chest and killed instantly on 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026) at Third Khazaneh Square (Khazaneh Bokharaei) while returning from a pharmacy with medicine for his daughter.
He had gone to a pharmacy at the Third Square of Khazaneh Bokharaei to get medicine for his daughter and as soon as he exited the pharmacy he was shot and killed by government agents.
The bullet struck his chest and he died instantly.
Omid was the father of two daughters aged 4 and 7 and worked as a security guard at the Ettelaat newspaper.
