Arvin and his twin brother were born in Sanandaj on 10 August 1984. Their childhood was spent during the war, often in shelters. Arvin was born five minutes after his brother, a time difference that was a frequent subject of humour between them.
Their father was a hydraulic engineer, and their mother worked for the Sanandaj Health Department. Arvin and his brother attended gifted schools and pursued electrical engineering at different universities. Arvin studied at the University of Tabriz, while his brother attended K. N. Toosi University of Technology in Tehran. Both continued their postgraduate studies in Tehran.
Arvin was fluent in Kurdish, Persian, English, and French, and had interests in music and sports such as football, mountaineering, and skiing. He followed news from Iran and the Middle East and paid attention to social and political issues.
Arvin fell in love with a woman named Ayda, who resided in Sweden, and they later migrated to Canada. They married in 2011, and Arvin earned his doctorate in power network control, working for reputable companies.
After several years, Arvin and Ayda returned to Iran with plans to move back to Montreal. However, due to the wartime conditions, they decided to return.
آروین و برادر دوقلوی او در 10 مرداد 1363 در سنندج به دنیا آمدند. دوران کودکی آن ها در زمان جنگ و در شرایط پناهگاه ها گذشت. آروین پنج دقیقه بعد از برادرش به دنیا آمد و این تفاوت زمانی همیشه موضوع شوخی بین آن ها بود.
پدر آن ها مهندس هیدرولیک و مادرشان کارمند اداره بهداشت سنندج بودند. آروین و برادرش در مدارس تیزهوشان تحصیل کردند و در دانشگاه های مختلف به تحصیل در رشته برق پرداختند. آروین در دانشگاه تبریز و برادرش در دانشگاه خواجه نصیر تهران تحصیل کردند. در مقطع فوق لیسانس هر دو در تهران به تحصیل ادامه دادند.
آروین به چهار زبان کردی، فارسی، انگلیسی و فرانسه مسلط بود و علاقه مند به موسیقی و ورزش هایی مانند فوتبال، کوهنوردی و اسکی بود. او اخبار ایران و خاورمیانه را دنبال می کرد و به مسائل اجتماعی و سیاسی توجه داشت.
آروین عاشق دختری به نام آیدا شد که مقیم سوئد بود و پس از مدتی به کانادا مهاجرت کردند. آن ها در سال 1390 ازدواج کردند و آروین دکترای خود را در رشته کنترل شبکه های قدرت گرفت و در شرکت های معتبر مشغول به کار شد.
آروین و آیدا پس از چند سال به ایران بازگشتند و قصد داشتند به مونترال برگردند. اما در شرایطی که وضعیت جنگی بود، آن ها تصمیم به بازگشت گرفتند.
