Masoud Mahmoudi, a resident of Tehran, remains detained without a clear legal status in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. He faces charges, including espionage, following a phone call with his sister during which he expressed dissatisfaction with the country's conditions.
His case has been referred to the Janatabad Prosecutor's Office, where he is confronted with the security charge of espionage. Masoud Mahmoudi was arrested by government forces on 3 April 2026 and initially transferred to solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
Before his arrest, Masoud Mahmoudi had a phone conversation with his sister, who resides abroad, during which he expressed dissatisfaction with the situation in Iran. This conversation reportedly led to his surveillance and subsequent arrest.
Prior to his detention, Masoud Mahmoudi, a resident of the Fallah area in Tehran, worked as a cleaner. After a period of interrogation and solitary confinement, he was moved to the general ward of the prison but remains in legal uncertainty.

پرونده مسعود محمودی به دادسرای جنت آباد ارجاع داده شده و او با اتهام امنیتی جاسوسی مواجه است. وی در تاریخ 15 فروردین 1405 (3 آوریل 2026)، توسط نیروهای حکومتی بازداشت و ابتدا به سلول انفرادی زندان قزل حصار کرج منتقل شد.
مسعود محمودی قبل از بازداشت، یک تماس تلفنی با خواهر خود که در خارج از کشور سکونت دارد، داشته است. او در این مکالمه تلفنی از شرایط ایران ابراز نارضایتی کرده بود که این گفتگو مبنای شنود و بازداشت او قرار گرفته است.
مسعود محمودی، شهروند ساکن منطقه فلاح تهران، پیش از بازداشت به شغل نظافتچی مشغول به کار بوده است. این زندانی پس از دوره ای از بازجویی و حبس در سلول انفرادی، به بند عمومی زندان منتقل شده است اما همچنان در وضعیت بلاتکلیفی قضایی قرار دارد.
