Omid Moshirpanahi, a Kurdish language instructor and member of the Nozhin Cultural and Social Association in Sanandaj, was reportedly arrested on 23 February 2023 after being summoned by phone to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office. Reports indicate that the reason for his arrest was responding to security forces in Kurdish.
The Nozhin Association is an independent cultural group that has conducted free Kurdish language classes in various cities in Kurdistan in recent years. In addition to Omid Moshirpanahi, seven other members of this association were also detained by security forces for a period following the start of nationwide protests in Iran.
Reports indicate that from March 2022 to March 2023, at least 12 Kurdish language instructors who voluntarily taught the mother tongue to Kurdish children were arrested by governmental bodies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
امید مشیرپناهی، مدرس زبان کردی و عضو انجمن فرهنگی اجتماعی نوژین در سنندج، بر اساس گزارش ها در تاریخ ۴ اسفند ۱۴۰۱ پس از احضار تلفنی به اداره اطلاعات سنندج دستگیر شده است. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که دلیل بازداشت وی پاسخ دادن به نیروهای امنیتی به زبان کردی بوده است.
انجمن نوژین یک گروه فرهنگی مستقل است که در سال های گذشته کلاس های رایگان آموزش زبان کردی در شهرهای مختلف کردستان برگزار کرده است. علاوه بر امید مشیرپناهی، هفت عضو دیگر این انجمن نیز پس از آغاز اعتراضات سراسری ایران برای مدتی توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شدند.
گزارش ها نشان می دهند که از اسفند سال ۱۴۰۰ تا اسفند ۱۴۰۱، دست کم ۱۲ مدرس زبان کردی که به صورت داوطلبانه اقدام به تدریس زبان مادری به کودکان کرد کرده اند، توسط نهادهای حکومتی جمهوری اسلامی ایران دستگیر شده اند.
