Javad Zamani

Javad Zamani, who was detained during the nationwide protests in December 2025 in the city of Shahroud, was executed in secret at Shahroud Central Prison on the morning of 16 June 2026 (26 Khordad 1405). He was executed alongside Abolfazl Saeedi in a joint case on charges of "enmity against God," "corruption on earth," "destruction and arson of public and private property," "assembly and collusion against national security," "disruption of public order," and "use of weapons." The Shahroud Revolutionary Court issued the sentence, which the Supreme Court upheld. The judicial process lacked transparency, denied access to a chosen lawyer, and relied on forced confessions. This execution was part of a broader wave of death sentences following the December protests.
