Reports indicate that on 11 November 2023, the death sentence of a man identified as Meysam Chahani was carried out at the central prison of Zahedan. He had been sentenced to death on charges of "waging war through armed action."
Meysam Chahani was arrested on 28 August 2011 and was tried on charges including "actions against national security," "membership in opposition groups," and "waging war through armed action," leading to his death sentence.
Reports suggest that Meysam experienced psychological and physical torture during his one-year detention at the Zahedan Intelligence Office, resulting in mental health issues.
On 8 November 2023, Meysam Chahani was transferred from the security section of the central prison of Zahedan to solitary confinement.
بر اساس گزارش ها، صبح روز شنبه 20 آبان ماه 1402، حکم اعدام یک مرد بلوچ در زندان مرکزی زاهدان به اجرا درآمد. هویت این زندانی میثم چندانی اعلام شده است که به اتهام "محاربه از طریق اقدام مسلحانه" به اعدام محکوم شده بود.
میثم چندانی در تاریخ 6 شهریور 1390 بازداشت و در دادگاه با اتهاماتی از جمله "اقدام علیه امنیت کشور"، "عضویت در گروه های مخالف نظام" و "محاربه از طریق اقدام مسلحانه" محاکمه و به اعدام محکوم شده بود.
گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که میثم پس از تحمل شکنجه های روحی و جسمی در مدت یک سال بازداشت در اداره اطلاعات زاهدان، دچار اختلالات روحی و روانی شده است.
میثم چندانی در تاریخ 17 آبان ماه 1402 از بند امنیتی زندان مرکزی زاهدان به سلول انفرادی منتقل شده بود.
