In the early hours of 22 May 2026, Iranian state media reported the execution of Abduljalil Shahbakhsh, a political and ideological prisoner from the Baluch community. Shahbakhsh was arrested by security forces around Zahedan during nationwide protests following the events of Bloody Friday in Zahedan in 2022.
Abduljalil Shahbakhsh, also known as Shakib, was the son of Jalal and hailed from the village of Chah Ahmad in the Taftan region.
The media centre of the Islamic Republic's judiciary issued a statement outlining the charges against him, which included "armed rebellion through attacks on law enforcement headquarters" and "membership in the Ansar al-Furqan group." It was claimed that he became acquainted with this group approximately six years ago and had illegally crossed the border to receive military training.
According to a relative of Shahbakhsh, the lack of media coverage regarding his situation until the execution was due to pressure and promises from security agencies directed at tribal leaders and his family. Sources indicated that security agencies had informed the family and local influential figures that refraining from publicising the case might lead to the annulment or suspension of the execution.
بامداد روز سه شنبه ۲۲ اردیبهشت ماه ۱۴۰۵، رسانه های حکومتی ایران از اجرای حکم اعدام «عبدالجلیل شه بخش» زندانی سیاسی -عقیدتی بلوچ، که در بحبوحه اعتراضات سراسری پس از جمعه خونین زاهدان در سال ۱۴۰۱، در اطراف شهر زاهدان توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شده بوده خبر دادند.
«عبدالجلیل شه بخش» معروف به «شکیب»، فرزند جلال، اهل روستای چاه احمد از توابع شهرستان تفتان است.
مرکز رسانه قوه قضاییه جمهوری اسلامی در اطلاعیه ای، اتهامات مطرح شده علیه وی را «بغی از طریق حمله مسلحانه به مقرهای انتظامی» و «عضویت در گروه انصارالفرقان» عنوان کرده و مدعی شده است که او حدود شش سال پیش با این گروه آشنا شده و برای دریافت آموزش نظامی، به صورت غیرقانونی از مرز خارج شده بود.
به گفته یکی از بستگان این زندانی به حال وش، یکی از دلایل رسانه ای نشدن وضعیت عبدالجلیل شه بخش تا زمان اجرای حکم، فشارها و وعده های نهادهای امنیتی به معتمدان طایفه و بستگان وی بوده است. به گفته منابع، نهادهای امنیتی به خانواده و افراد بانفوذ محلی اعلام کرده بودند که در صورت رسانه ای نکردن پرونده، امکان لغو یا توقف حکم اعدام وجود دارد.
