The event known as the Nojeh Coup, which occurred at Shahrokhi Air Base, marks its 43rd anniversary. This event began as an attempt to change the political situation in Iran. In the second week leading up to 9 July 1980, it was planned that groups from various tribes would collaborate on certain actions. On the night of 9 July 1980, nearly 300 paratroopers approached Shahrokhi Air Base in Hamedan. Simultaneously, a group of air force pilots gathered in Tehran to plan the control of Shahrokhi Air Base and conduct aerial operations.
The Patriotic Military Organization of Iran, led by Colonel Mohammad Bagher Bani Ameri, was one of the main planners of this event. However, on the night of 9 July 1980, the plan was compromised. It has been reported that the Tudeh Party disclosed information related to this event.
