Ahmad Mohammadi was reportedly a sergeant in the Iranian ground forces connected to the 1980 Nojeh/Neghab coup attempt. Historical sources list him among the military personnel who were arrested and executed afterward; one burial archive records his burial at Behesht Zahra, Section 41, on 9 Mordad 1359 (31 July 1980).
The event known as the Nozheh Coup was planned with the aim of changing the government in Iran. The operation was intended to begin at the Shahrokhi Air Base in Hamedan and involve various tribes in a rebellion to divert military forces away from Tehran. On the night of 9 July 1980, approximately 300 paratroopers were approaching Shahrokhi Air Base. Simultaneously, in Tehran, a group of air force pilots had gathered to join the operation and carry out bombings on targets in the city.
It has been reported that the Iranian Patriotic Officers' Organization, led by Colonel Mohammad Baqer Bani Ameri, was one of the main planners of this event. Ahmad Mohammadi was one of those who lost their lives in the uprising at the Shahrokhi Air Base, later known as Nojeh.
The coup at Shahrokhi Air Base was uncovered on the night of 9 July 1980. Reports indicate that the Tudeh Party exposed the coup. On 11 July 1980, Major General Amir Bahman Bagheri was arrested and transferred to Evin Prison. He was accused of participating in the Nojeh Coup plot to overthrow the Islamic Republic in July 1980.

رویداد پایگاه شاهرخی که با نام قیام نقاب شناخته می شود، با هدف تغییر حکومت در ایران برنامه ریزی شده بود. این رویداد قرار بود از پایگاه شاهرخی همدان آغاز شود و با همکاری ایل های مختلف، شورشی برپا شود تا نیروهای نظامی از تهران دور شوند. در شب ۱۸ تیر ماه ۱۳۵۹، نزدیک به ۳۰۰ چترباز به پایگاه شاهرخی نزدیک می شدند. همزمان، در تهران، گروهی از خلبانان نیروی هوایی گرد آمده بودند تا به عملیات بپیوندند و اهدافی را در تهران بمباران کنند.
گزارش شده است که سازمان نظامیان وطن پرست ایران (نوپا) به رهبری سرهنگ دوم محمدباقر بنی عامری از طراحان اصلی این رویداد بوده است. احمد محمدی، یکی از جان باختگان قیام نقاب در پایگاه سوم شکاری شاهرخی (همدان، بعداً نوژه) بود.
کودتای پایگاه شاهرخی در شب ۱۸ تیر ماه ۱۳۵۹ خورشیدی لو رفت. گزارش شده است که حزب توده این کودتا را افشا کرده است. در ۲۰ تیر ماه ۱۳۵۹، سرلشکر امیر بهمن باقری دستگیر و به زندان اوین منتقل شد. اتهام او شرکت در طرح کودتای نوژه (قیام نقاب) برای سرنگونی جمهوری اسلامی در تیرماه ۱۳۵۹ بود.
