On 19 June 2023, Ali Zarei was arrested by security forces in Tehran and released after a few hours. It was reported that he was detained while on his way to Behesht Zahra and was subjected to physical assault by security forces. Additionally, it was stated that one of his eyes had previously been injured by a bullet during the nationwide protests in 2022 and required medical treatment.
On 7 July 2023, Ali Zarei was arrested again in Tehran. Earlier, on 8 June 2023, he had been detained by security forces in Tehran and subsequently released. On 25 May 2026, it was reported that one of the victims of eye injuries from the "Woman, Life, Freedom" uprising had returned to Iran and was detained by the Ministry of Intelligence upon arrival. On 1 September 2026, Ali Zarei Doz Dehresi, a political prisoner and one of the injured from the 2022 nationwide protests, who is incarcerated in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, was sentenced to death by Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of "corruption on earth."
در تاریخ 29 خرداد 1402، علی زارعی توسط نیروهای امنیتی در تهران بازداشت شد و پس از ساعاتی آزاد گردید.
گزارش شده است که علی زارعی در مسیر رفتن به بهشت زهرا با ضرب و شتم توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شده است. همچنین، اعلام شده است که یکی از چشم های وی پیشتر در جریان اعتراضات سراسری سال 1401 با شلیک گلوله آسیب دیده و نیاز به درمان دارد.
در تاریخ 16 تیر 1402، علی زارعی بار دیگر در تهران بازداشت شد. در تاریخ 18 خرداد 1402، او توسط نیروهای امنیتی در تهران بازداشت و سپس آزاد شد. در تاریخ 4 خرداد 1405، گزارش شد که یکی از قربانیان آسیب چشمی از قیام "زن، زندگی، آزادی" به ایران بازگشته و از زمان ورودش توسط وزارت اطلاعات بازداشت شده است. در تاریخ 10 شهریور 1405، علی زارعی دوز دره سی، زندانی سیاسی و یکی از مجروحان اعتراضات سراسری سال 1401، که در زندان قزل حصار کرج زندانی است، توسط شعبه 23 دادگاه انقلاب تهران به اتهام "افساد فی الارض" به اعدام محکوم شده است.
