Amirhossein Toufanpour, a 32-year-old man, passed away during the events following the 2009 presidential election in Iran. On the evening of 15 June 2009, he became associated with the "List of 72" linked to the Green Movement.
At 8:30 PM on 15 June, Amirhossein and his brother were riding a motorcycle near Azadi Square when they encountered a crowd of protesters and street clashes. Amirhossein separated from his brother to gather information about the situation and disappeared amidst the chaos. Hours later, an unknown individual contacted his family using his mobile phone, informing them that Amirhossein had been shot in the hand and taken to a hospital.
After several days of fruitless searches in hospitals, his family identified his body at the forensic medical centre on 19 June 2009. The condition of Amirhossein's body indicated severe violence; in addition to bullet wounds in his forearm, side, and back, his arm was broken, and there was significant bruising on the back of his neck. A deep wound on the back of his head had been filled with cotton. The transformation of a simple hand injury into death, and the responsibility for the other injuries, was never clarified by authorities.
Reports indicated that officials from the Revolutionary Court initially requested a sum between five to ten million tomans as a fee for the release of the body, but this demand was waived following the family's persistent efforts.
The body of Amirhossein was released on the condition that the family would not hold any public ceremonies at home or in a mosque. He was eventually buried in Behesht Zahra Cemetery in Tehran on 21 June 2009.
Judicial authorities at the time promised the family an investigation into the case and compensation, but justice regarding those responsible for his death was never served.
امیرحسین طوفان پور، متأهل و پدر دختری ۷ ساله بود که در جریان وقایع پس از انتخابات ریاست جمهوری سال ۱۳۸۸ جان باخت. او در شامگاه ۲۵ خرداد ۱۳۸۸ به یکی از چهره های مظلوم «لیست ۷۲ تن» جنبش سبز تبدیل شد.
در ساعت ۲۰:۳۰ شب ۲۵ خرداد، امیرحسین به همراه برادرش سوار بر موتور از حوالی میدان آزادی عبور می کردند که با جمعیت معترض و درگیری های خیابانی روبرو شدند. او برای کسب اطلاع از وضعیت از برادرش جدا شد و در میان شلوغی ناپدید گشت. ساعاتی بعد، فردی ناشناس با تلفن همراه او تماس گرفت و به خانواده اش اطلاع داد که امیرحسین از ناحیه دست تیر خورده و به بیمارستان منتقل شده است.
پس از چند روز جستجوی بی حاصل در بیمارستان ها، خانواده اش در ۲۹ خرداد ۱۳۸۸ پیکر او را در پزشکی قانونی شناسایی کردند. وضعیت پیکر امیرحسین نشان دهنده خشونتی عمیق بود؛ علاوه بر جای گلوله در ساق دست، پهلو و کمر، بازوی او شکسته و پشت گردنش دچار کبودی شدید بود. همچنین زخم عمیقی در پشت سر او وجود داشت که با پنبه پر شده بود. نحوه تبدیل یک جراحت ساده در دست به مرگ، و مسئولیت جراحات متعدد دیگر، هرگز توسط مقامات شفاف سازی نشد.
گزارش دادند که مسئولان دادگاه انقلاب در ابتدا برای تحویل پیکر، تقاضای مبلغی بین ۵ تا ۱۰ میلیون تومان به عنوان «حق تیر» داشتند که با اصرار و پیگیری های خانواده، از این خواسته صرف نظر شد.
پیکر امیرحسین تنها با این شرط تحویل داده شد که خانواده هیچ مراسم عمومی در خانه یا مسجد برگزار نکنند. او سرانجام در ۳۱ خرداد ۱۳۸۸ در بهشت زهرای تهران به خاک سپرده شد.
مراجع قضایی در آن زمان به خانواده قول رسیدگی به پرونده و پرداخت دیه را دادند، اما عدالت در مورد قاتل یا قاتلان او هرگز اجرا نشد.
