رحمان هاتفی روزنامه نگار چپ گرا، فعال سیاسی اهل ایران، سردبیر روزنامهٔ کیهان در آستانهٔ انقلاب بهمن ۱۳۵۷، سردبیر نامه مردم و عضو حزب توده ایران بود. وی در اردیبهشت ۱۳۶۲ دستگیر و 2 ماه بعد در زندان توحید به روایتی زیر شکنجه کشته شد، و به روایتی دیگر در سلول زندان خود را کشت.
در سال ۱۳۵۲ هاتفی به حزب تودهٔ ایران پیوست او در تصفیه هایی که چند ماه پس از انقلاب در بهار ۱۳۵۸ در روزنامه کیهان صورت گرفت، از کار برکنار شد.
رحمان هاتفی در ۷ اردیبهشت ۱۳۶۲ در تهران دستگیر شد و برای بازجوئی به زندان توحید برده شد. به روایتی زیر شکنجه کشته شد، و به روایتی دیگر در سلول زندان خود را با «جویدن رگ هایش» کشت

Rahman Hatefi, a leftist journalist and political activist from Iran, was the editor of the Kayhan newspaper on the eve of the February 1979 revolution, the editor of Nameh Mardom, and a member of the Tudeh Party of Iran. He was arrested in May 1983 and, according to one account, was killed under torture two months later in Towhid Prison, while another account suggests he committed suicide in his cell.

Rahman Hatefi was an Iranian journalist and political activist associated with the Tudeh Party of Iran. He served as the editor-in-chief of *Kayhan* newspaper around the time of the 1979 Revolution and was also the editor of *Nameh-ye Mardom*. Hatefi joined the Tudeh Party in 1973. He was removed from his position at *Kayhan* during the purges in the spring of 1979, shortly after the revolution.
Hatefi was arrested in Tehran on 27 April 1983 and taken to Tohid Prison for interrogation. He died two months later in the prison. There are differing accounts regarding the circumstances of his death; some suggest he was killed under torture, while others claim he took his own life in his cell.
