Pouya Norouzi, a taekwondo athlete, was killed on 10 January 2026 in Nourabad Mamasani, Fars Province, following the funeral procession of Kamiyab Ahmadi. Pouya Norouzi was a medal-winning taekwondo athlete at both provincial and national levels and had been invited to the national youth taekwondo team in the early 2010s.
Information indicates that Pouya had participated in protests two nights prior to the incident, which may have increased the likelihood of him being identified and targeted on 10 January.
Eyewitnesses reported that on 10 January, the people of Nourabad decided to march from Behesht Zahra to the city centre after Kamiyab Ahmadi's funeral. A large crowd was present, and the forces of the Islamic Republic began shooting from the outset.
Pouya, who was at the front of the line, threw stones at the Islamic Republic forces and was immediately targeted by government officers. After being shot, he was taken to the hospital and passed away in the operating room during surgery.
Pouya's family faced security pressures to accept that their son was a Basij member but resisted. Government officers informed them that only two family members were allowed to attend the burial ceremony. However, eyewitnesses reported that a large crowd attended Pouya's burial.
Pouya Norouzi was laid to rest two nights after being shot in the village of Abgoshneh, Nourabad Mamasani.
پویا نوروزی، تکواندوکار، در 20 دی 1404 در نورآباد ممسنی استان فارس پس از تشییع پیکر کامیاب احمدی با شلیک مستقیم نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی کشته شد. پویا نوروزی مدال آور تکواندو در سطح استان و کشور بود و در سال های ابتدایی دهه 1390 به تیم ملی نوجوانان تکواندو دعوت شده بود.
اطلاعاتی نشان می دهد که پویا در دو شب قبل از این حادثه نیز در اعتراضات مشارکت داشته است. این موضوع باعث شده که احتمال شناسایی و هدف قرار دادن او در روز 20 دی افزایش یابد.
شاهدان عینی گزارش داده اند که در 20 دی، مردم نورآباد پس از تشییع کامیاب احمدی تصمیم به تظاهرات از بهشت زهرا تا مرکز شهر گرفتند. جمعیت زیادی حضور داشتند و نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی از همان ابتدا شروع به تیراندازی کردند.
پویا که در صف جلو قرار داشت، به سمت نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی سنگ پرتاب کرد و در همان لحظه هدف سلاح ماموران حکومتی قرار گرفت. او پس از اصابت گلوله به بیمارستان منتقل شد و در اتاق عمل در حین جراحی جان باخت.
خانواده پویا تحت فشارهای امنیتی برای پذیرش بسیجی بودن فرزندشان قرار گرفتند اما مقاومت کردند. ماموران حکومتی به آن ها گفته بودند که فقط دو نفر از اعضای خانواده اجازه حضور در مراسم خاکسپاری را دارند. با این حال، شاهدان عینی گزارش داده اند که جمعیت زیادی برای خاکسپاری پویا حاضر شده بودند.
پویا نوروزی دو شب بعد از تیر خوردن در روستای آبگشنه نورآباد ممسنی به خاک سپرده شد.
