Behnam Izadi, a farmer and shopkeeper from a prominent Lur family in Mamasani, Fars Province, was killed on the evening of 8 January 2026 by direct gunfire to his eye and head. Reports indicate that Behnam was the driver and owner of a white Paykan vehicle that was used to transport injured protesters to safety in Mamasani on the night of 4 January 2026.
Earlier, a video had been released showing a white Paykan driving through the streets of Mamasani on the night of 4 January 2026, with officers reportedly firing at it. It is said that Behnam Izadi was injured that night but, despite his injuries, participated in protests on 8 January 2026, where he was killed.
Sources close to Behnam confirmed that he was from a landowning family in the city and assisted his elderly parents. Reports indicate that on the evening of 4 January 2026, Behnam's vehicle was targeted and damaged by officers, and he was identified and injured that night.
According to sources, officers initially refused to release Behnam Izadi's body. After several days of follow-up and obtaining a commitment not to publicise the incident, he was buried in the presence of security forces. His family was compelled to proceed with the burial under threats that the body would be taken away if they did not comply.

پیش تر ویدئویی از عبور یک پیکان سفید در شب 14 دی در خیابان های ممسنی منتشر شده بود که نشان می داد مأموران به سمت آن شلیک می کنند. گفته شده که بهنام ایزدی در آن شب مجروح شده بود اما با وجود زخمی بودن، در 18 دی در اعتراضات شرکت کرد و کشته شد.
منابع نزدیک به بهنام تأیید کرده اند که او از خانواده های ملاک این شهر بوده و به پدر و مادر سالخورده اش کمک می کرده است. گزارش ها نشان می دهد که شامگاه 14 دی خودروی بهنام هدف شلیک مأموران قرار گرفته و تخریب شده است. بهنام نیز در آن شب زخمی شده و شناسایی شده بود.
به گفته منابع، مأموران پیکر بهنام ایزدی را تحویل نمی دادند و پس از چند روز پیگیری و اخذ تعهد برای عدم اطلاع رسانی، با حضور نیروهای امنیتی او به خاک سپرده شد. خانواده اش مجبور به خاکسپاری او شدند و تهدید شده بودند که در صورت عدم انجام این کار، جسد را با خود خواهند برد.
