Karim Khoshesteh, a resident of Khomam County in Gilan Province, was arrested by security forces at his industrial workshop and transferred to Lakan Prison in Rasht on 13 March 2025. Previously, in July 2024, he had been arrested on charges of propaganda against the regime and was released on bail after approximately four and a half months. In the second arrest, he was charged with rebellion, which could lead to severe penalties. Reports indicate that no new evidence or documentation has been presented against him. A death sentence was issued and communicated to him in December 2025.

پیش از این نیز در تیرماه 1403 به اتهام تبلیغ علیه نظام بازداشت و پس از حدود چهار ماه و نیم با وثیقه آزاد شده بود.
در بازداشت دوم، اتهام بغی به او تفهیم شده است که می تواند مجازات های سنگینی در پی داشته باشد. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که هیچ مستندات یا شواهد جدیدی علیه او ارائه نشده است. حکم اعدام در آذر 1404 صادر و به او ابلاغ شد.
