He has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by Branch Five of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Yazdankhah. His sentence was issued on 9 October. The court sentenced him to five years in prison for "assembly and collusion," two years for "propaganda against the regime," and eight years for "actions against national security."

A citizen from Mashhad, Abolfazl Damanjani, initiated a hunger strike on 1 July in protest against his continued detention and the conditions of his confinement in Vakilabad Prison's quarantine. It has been reported that he has been transferred from the quarantine section of Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad to an undisclosed location.

Abolfazl Damanjani was arrested on 10 January 2026 following a raid by security forces at his workplace in the Qasemabad area of Mashhad and was subsequently taken to an unknown location.

He is the child of one of the individuals killed in the Iran-Iraq war and is the head of a family living under difficult circumstances.

ابوالفضل دامنجانی از تاریخ 10 تیرماه در اعتراض به تداوم بازداشت و شرایط نگهداری خود در قرنطینه زندان وکیل آباد، دست به اعتصاب غذا زده بود. گزارش شده است که این زندانی از قرنطینه زندان وکیل آباد مشهد به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شده است.

ابوالفضل دامنجانی، شهروند اهل مشهد، در تاریخ 20 دی ماه 1404 در پی یورش نیروهای امنیتی به محل کسبش در منطقه قاسم آباد مشهد بازداشت و به مکانی نامعلوم منتقل شد.

او فرزند یکی از کشته شدگان جنگ ایران و عراق است و سرپرست خانواده ای است که در شرایطی دشوار به سر می برد.
