The imposition of bail beyond his and his family's financial means has turned temporary detention into a punishment before a verdict is issued.
An individual who had previously been imprisoned between 2017 and 2020, and again from 2021 to 2022, on charges such as "propaganda against the regime" and "insult," was released due to severe health issues, including speech impairment and movement disorders, following a stroke. The release was based on a forensic medical opinion and a ruling of "inability to endure imprisonment." However, reports indicate that this person was once again detained on 14 April 2026 in front of Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. It is reported that the individual was transferred to the quarantine ward of this prison under a temporary detention order issued by Branch 270 of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court, facing charges including "propaganda against the regime during wartime." Since the detention, the individual has been denied visits and telephone contact.
