Siamak Zaeem was born in 1944 in Kashan. During high school, he was an active member of Alborz High School in Tehran. In 1963, he went to the United States for his studies and joined the ranks of the Confederation of Iranian Students and Pupils Abroad in California. During this period, Siamak was an activist in the anti-Vietnam War movement in the United States, and his name was listed by the FBI among the communists. He was greatly influenced by the ideas of Mao Zedong and the Chinese Cultural Proletarian Revolution, and in 1968, he founded the "Organization of Communist Revolutionaries (M-L)" and became its ideological-political leader. Many of the political and theoretical articles and pamphlets of the Organization of Communist Revolutionaries were written by him, including the famous pamphlet "Marxist-Leninists and the Guerrilla Path," published in 1973. From 1976, with the formation of the Union of Iranian Communists, he was in the leadership of this organization and was responsible for the publication "Haqiqat." He returned to Iran in 1979 and organized the Union of Communists in Iran. He was the main architect of the Sarbedaran uprising and its political and armed struggle leader. Siamak Zaeem was arrested on January 26, 1982, a day after the failure of the Amol uprising, and was subjected to severe torture in Evin Prison. However, he never lost his spirit of resistance and perseverance and was executed in February 1985.
