فریبا اسدی زندانی سیاسی در بهمن۹۹ بازداشت و به اتهام تبلیغ علیه نظام از طریق چاپ و پخش بنر و تراکت،اجتماع و تبانی علیه امنیت ملی،عضویت در گروههای مخالف نظام محکوم شد.
وی از ۱۳دی ۱۴۰۰ پس از بازداشت در منزلش، جهت تحمل حبس در زندان قرچک ورامین محبوس است.
فریبا اسدی در تاریخ 22 تیرماه 1401 بدلیل مشکلات پزشکی در طی دوران حبس به بیمارستان منتقل شد اما پیش از اتمام مراحل بهبودی به زندان بازگردانده شد.
فریبا اسدی مدتی از محکومیت خود را در زندان اوین سپری کرد و از بابت پرونده ای که طی دوران حبس برای وی گشوده شد، توسط شعبه ۲۹ دادگاه انقلاب تهران به ۴ سال حبس تعلیقی محکوم شد. او همچنین از بابت پرونده ای دیگر، توسط شعبه ۲۶، به ۳ ماه و یک روز حبس تعزیری محکوم شده است.
او سرانجام در تاریخ 19 بهمن 1401 از بند زنان زندان اوین آزاد شد.

Fariba Asadi, a political prisoner, was arrested in February 2021 and convicted of charges including propaganda against the regime through printing and distributing banners and leaflets, assembly and collusion against national security, and membership in opposition groups. She has been held in Qarchak Varamin Prison since January 3, 2022, following her arrest at her home to serve her sentence. On July 13, 2022, Fariba Asadi was transferred to the hospital due to medical issues during her imprisonment but was returned to prison before completing her recovery. She spent part of her sentence in Evin Prison and, during her incarceration, was sentenced to a four-year suspended prison term by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court for a case opened against her during her imprisonment. Additionally, she was sentenced to three months and one day of imprisonment by Branch 26 for another case. She was eventually released from the women's ward of Evin Prison on February 8, 2023.
