Mehdi Savoralia, one of the detainees from the protests in January 2026, imprisoned in Karaj Central Prison, has been sentenced by the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court of this city to six years of imprisonment and additional penalties. He has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment for the charge of propaganda against the regime and five years for the charge of assembly and collusion to commit a crime against national security. Additionally, as a supplementary punishment, the court has sentenced him to a two-year ban on leaving the country, joining social groups and organizations, and disqualification and dismissal from all governmental and public jobs and services.
Mehdi Savareh Alia, a political prisoner arrested in January 2026, continues to be denied medical treatment. Reports indicate that head injuries have resulted in a skull fracture, which is visibly apparent. He has only received two injections to address blood clots. Additional injuries include dislocated vertebrae, damage to the left leg bone, and a fracture of the middle finger on the right hand. Despite these injuries, he has not been transferred to medical facilities. He has spent over one hundred days of his detention in solitary confinement and faces charges such as assembly and collusion and propaganda against the regime. His court session is scheduled to be held at the Karaj Revolutionary Court on 21 July.

Mehdi Savaralia was arrested by the IRGC intelligence forces on Thursday, January 8, 1404, during public protests in Karaj and transferred to Security Ward 16 of the Karaj Central Penitentiary. He is currently being held indefinitely in Qezl-e-Hasar Prison in Karaj. According to reports, this citizen suffered serious injuries to his head and spine as a result of being beaten during his arrest and interrogation.
