آنها براى شركت در مراسم عروسى برادر سارا و مراسم نامزدى خواهر اميرحسين به ايران رفته بودندكه در راه بازگشت به تورنتو، هواپيمايشان هدف موشكهای سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی قرار گرفت. در اثر این شلیک هواپیما سقوط کرد همه مسافران کشته شدند.

She was a passenger on Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752. On 8 January 2020, the aircraft, operating a scheduled passenger service from Tehran to Kyiv, was shot down shortly after takeoff by air defence missiles fired by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, killing all 176 people on board.
Asal was the daughter of Amir Hossein Oveyssi and Sara Hamzei and was one of the youngest passengers on flight PS752. The family traveled to Iran to attend the wedding of Sara's brother and the engagement ceremony of Amir Hossein's sister. On their return journey to Toronto, their aircraft was targeted by missiles from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The plane crashed as a result of the attack, and all passengers were killed.
