The family of Peyman was informed that his death was due to choking on food, and they were requested not to publicise the matter. Peyman, a father of two, had been arrested by the Kermanshah Intelligence Department and fell into a coma after reportedly being tortured, eventually passing away at the Army Hospital.
It was reported that the 520 Kermanshah Hospital contacted the Abdi family to inform them that their son's body was at the hospital and could be collected. Doctors at the Army Hospital stated that Peyman's death resulted from a blunt force trauma to the head.
Peyman Abdi was arrested by the Kermanshah Intelligence Department on 2 January 2024 on a street in the city. On the same night, he reportedly fell into a coma due to torture and was transferred to the Army Hospital. The family had no information about his condition for several days following his arrest and coma. It was reported that his body was handed over to the family after they provided a written commitment not to publicise the news of his death. It was stated that the reason for Peyman's arrest was an altercation with officers, but no further details were provided.
به خانواده پیمان اعلام شده است که علت مرگ او خفگی ناشی از گیر کردن لقمه در گلو بوده است و از آنها خواسته شده که موضوع را رسانه ای نکنند. پیمان پدر دو فرزند، توسط نیروهای اداره آگاهی کرمانشاه بازداشت شده بود و پس از تحمل شکنجه به کما رفته و در بیمارستان ارتش درگذشته است.
گزارش شده است که از بیمارستان ۵۲۰ کرمانشاه با خانواده عبدی تماس گرفته شده و به آنها اطلاع داده شده که پیکر فرزندشان در بیمارستان است و می توانند برای تحویل گرفتن آن مراجعه کنند. پزشکان بیمارستان ارتش اعلام کرده اند که مرگ پیمان در اثر برخورد جسم سخت به سرش رخ داده است.
پیمان عبدی در تاریخ ۱۲ دی ۱۴۰۲ توسط نیروهای اداره آگاهی کرمانشاه در یکی از خیابان های این شهر بازداشت و همان شب در اثر شکنجه به کما رفته و به بیمارستان ارتش منتقل شده است. خانواده پیمان طی چند روز پس از بازداشت و به کما رفتن او هیچ اطلاعی از وضعیت او نداشته اند. گزارش شده است که با اخذ تعهد کتبی از خانواده مبنی بر رسانه ای نکردن خبر مرگ او، پیکرش به خانواده تحویل داده شده است. اعلام شده که دلیل بازداشت پیمان درگیری با مأموران بوده اما جزئیاتی ارائه نشده است.
