Mohammad Bagher (Soheil) Habibi was executed by firing squad in Hamedan on June 14, 1981.

Mohammad Bagher (Soheil) Habibi was born into a Bahá'í family. During high school, he was expelled for promoting the Bahá'í faith but completed his education at another school. To further promote the Bahá'í faith, he spent two years in Malayer and then moved to Sangestan. In Sangestan, his home was looted several times, and following repeated threats to his life, the local spiritual assembly advised him to move to Hamedan for his safety. Upon returning to Hamedan, he was elected to the Hamedan spiritual assembly.

On one occasion, he was arrested along with other members of the Hamedan spiritual assembly and subjected to severe torture for several weeks. In August 1980, the Revolutionary Guards visited his store with a list of Bahá'í names to obtain their addresses. However, he was in Tehran at the time, and his brother, Mohammad (Sohrab) Habibi, who was managing the store, was arrested in his place. The Hamedan spiritual assembly advised him not to return to Hamedan, although he insisted on going back. On 3 November 1980, while at his daughter's home in Tehran, he was mistakenly arrested by the committee, who were searching for a colonel.

The committee later realised their mistake and intended to release him, but a young guard remembered his previous arrest and prevented his release until inquiries could be made with Hamedan. He was then transferred to Hamedan and imprisoned along with six other members of the Hamedan spiritual assembly.

In the early hours of 14 June 1981, he was executed by firing squad along with the six members of the Hamedan assembly. Signs of torture were clearly visible on their bodies. Their bodies were buried in the Bahá'í cemetery in Hamedan in the presence of family members and according to Bahá'í rites.
