On 21 September 2022, Mohammad Rasoul Momeni Rad was killed in Rasht by gunfire from security forces. Reports indicate that after the shooting, he was severely beaten, and his body was only released to the family for burial on the condition of their silence.
On that day, Mohammad Rasoul's brother stated that they were fleeing from gunfire by security forces when officers on motorcycles pursued them and shot Mohammad Rasoul at close range. It has also been reported that after the shooting, the officers beat the two brothers with batons and subjected them to further physical assault. During this attack, Mohammad Rasoul's brother sustained a broken nose, and despite Mohammad Rasoul's severe bleeding, the officers continued the assault before fleeing on their motorcycles.
Mohammad Rasoul's mother has stated that upon arriving at the hospital, she encountered a significant presence of security forces and was not allowed to see her son's body. She also mentioned that during the burial and other family ceremonies, plainclothes officers were present in large numbers, and she felt compelled to remain silent to ensure the safety of her other children.
It has been reported that Mohammad Rasoul's body was only handed over for burial after the family agreed to conduct the burial quietly. Additionally, a large number of plainclothes officers were present at the burial, recording the event. According to a document that has been reviewed, the forensic report did not list gunfire as the cause of Mohammad Rasoul's death, instead citing "impact of high-velocity metal projectiles to the body" as the reason.
محمدرسول مومنی راد در 30 شهریور 1401 در رشت با شلیک نیروهای امنیتی کشته شد. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که پس از شلیک، او به شدت مورد ضرب و شتم قرار گرفت و پیکرش تنها به شرط سکوت خانواده برای خاکسپاری تحویل داده شد.
در این روز، برادر محمد رسول اعلام کرده است که در حال فرار از شلیک نیروهای امنیتی بودند و ماموران موتورسوار آنها را تعقیب کرده و از فاصله نزدیک به محمد رسول شلیک کردند. همچنین گزارش شده است که ماموران پس از شلیک، با باتوم دو برادر را کتک زدند و آنها را زیر مشت و لگد گرفتند. در این حمله، بینی برادر محمد رسول شکسته شد و با وجود خونریزی شدید محمد رسول، ماموران به ضرب و شتم ادامه دادند و سپس با موتورهای خود متواری شدند.
مادر محمد رسول اظهار داشته است که هنگام مراجعه به بیمارستان، با حضور گسترده نیروهای امنیتی مواجه شده و اجازه دیدن پیکر فرزندش را نداشته است. او همچنین اشاره کرده است که در مراسم تدفین و دیگر مراسم خانواده، ماموران لباس شخصی حضور گسترده ای داشته اند و برای حفظ امنیت دیگر فرزندانش مجبور به سکوت بوده است.
گزارش شده است که پیکر محمد رسول تنها زمانی برای خاکسپاری به خانواده تحویل داده شد که این خانواده تعهد دادند او را در سکوت به خاک بسپارند. همچنین در مراسم خاکسپاری تعداد زیادی مامور لباس شخصی حضور داشته و در حال فیلمبرداری بوده اند. بر اساس سندی که به رویت رسیده، در گزارش پزشکی قانونی علت مرگ محمد رسول شلیک گلوله عنوان نشده و دلیل کشته شدن او "اصابت پرتابه های پرشتاب فلزی به بدن" ذکر شده است.
