In recent days, Morteza Nourmohammadi (Nadarlou), a national civil activist, who is detained and awaiting trial in Tabriz Central Prison, was charged after being transferred to the interrogation branch at the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in that city. A bail of 500 million tomans was set for his release.
Behnam Nourmohammadi (Nadarlou), the brother of the accused, reported on his personal page that Morteza was charged with "assembly and collusion with the intent to act against national security" and that a bail of 500 million tomans was set for his temporary release. He further added that another case has been filed against Morteza in the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Tabriz with the charge of "membership in a group to act against the national security of the country." Morteza has been denied access to a lawyer and family visits but has had a few short phone calls with his family.
It is noteworthy that Morteza Nourmohammadi, who was following up on choosing his preferred name for his child, was summoned to the Civil Registry Office of Shabestar County on September 9, 2023, after receiving a phone call and was arrested by security agents.
Previously, the Civil Registry Office of Shabestar County had opposed the choice of the name "Houna" for Morteza Nourmohammadi's child and had refused to issue a birth certificate for the newborn with that name.
On May 21, 2023, security agents raided Morteza Nourmohammadi's home in the village of Nadarlou (Nazarlu) in Shabestar County to arrest him, but the arrest did not take place as he was not at home.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، طی روزهای اخیر، مرتضی نورمحمدی(نادارلی)، فعال ملی مدنی، محبوس و بلاتکلیف در زندان مرکزی تبریز، پس از انتقال به شعبه بازپرسی در دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب آن شهر، تفهیم اتهام شد و قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۵۰۰ میلیون تومان برای آزادی وی صادر شد.
بهنام نورمحمدی(نادارلی)، برادر این متهم، ضمن انتشار مطلبی در صفحه شخصی خود از تفهیم اتهام (اجتماع و تبانی به قصد اقدام علیه امنیت ملی) و از صدور قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۵۰۰ میلیون تومان برای آزادی موقت برادرش خبر داد و در ادامه افزود:”پرونده دیگری هم در دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب تبریز با اتهام (عضویت در گروه جهت اقدام علیه امنیت ملی کشور) بر علیه مرتضی تشکیل شده و تاکنون از امکان دسترسی به وکیل و ملاقات با خانواده محروم بوده ولی چند تماس تفلنی کوتاه با خانواده داشته است.”
لازم به اشاره است، مرتضی نورمحمدی، با توجه به اینکه پیگیر انتخاب نام مورد نظر خود برای فرزندش بود، در تاریخ ۱۸ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۲، با دریافت تماس تلفنی، به اداره ثبت احوال شهرستان شبستر، احضار و در توسط ماموران امنیتی بازداشت شد.
همچنین، پیشتر هم اداره ثبت احوال شهرستان شبستر با انتخاب نام (هونای) برای فرزند مرتضی نورمحمدی، مخالفت و از صدور شناستانه برای این نوزاد با نام مذکور امتناع کرده بود.
در تاریخ ۳۱ اردیبهشت ۱۴۰۲ هم ماموران امنیتی، با یورش منزل مرتضی نورمحمدی در روستای نادارلی(نظرلو) از توابع شهرستان شبستر، اقدام به بازداشت وی کرده بودند اما با توج به عدم حضور وی در منزل این بازداشت صورت نگرفته بود.
