Ashkan Baloch, the son of Dariush Baloch and Niko Ghafari Tabrizi, was a protester residing in Tabriz. He had previously been detained during the nationwide protests in 2019 and 2022. Ashkan Baloch was known as a kickboxing coach and a delivery motorcyclist.
According to a fellow inmate from 2019, there were attempts to extract a forced confession from him and to add the destruction of a petrol station to his charges. He was arrested in October 2022 and was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by a preliminary court. Another inmate from Fashafuyeh Prison mentioned that Ashkan Baloch had attempted suicide in the prison bathroom but was saved by fellow inmates. On another occasion, he reportedly jumped from a window at Loghman Hospital, resulting in broken arms and legs. Due to these circumstances, he was released from prison and required assistance with daily activities.
A few days before his suicide attempt, which led to his death, he was contacted by the police for questioning at a governmental centre. Unable to cope, he passed away on 21 December 2023 and was buried at the Vadi-e Rahmat Cemetery in Tabriz.

به گفته یکی از هم بندیهایش در سال ۱۳۹۸ تلاش کردند تا از او اعتراف اجباری بگیرند و تخریب یک پمپ بنزین را وارد پرونده اش کنند، او در مهرماه سال ۱۴۰۱ دستگیر شده و در دادگاه بدوی به ۵ سال حبس تعزیزی محکوم شده بود. به گفته هم بندی دیگرش در زندان فشافویه، اشکان بلوچ «یک بار در حمام زندان خودکشی کرده بود» که «هم بندی ها به وقتش رسیده بودند و از مرگ نجاتش دادند» و «بار دوم هم در بیمارستان لقمان خودش را از پنجره پرت کرد» که سبب شکستگی دست و پا یش شد . وی به همین دلیل از زندان آزاد شد. او برای کارهای روزمره نیاز به کمک داشت. وقتی چند روز پیش از اقدام به خودکشی که به مرگش انجامید «از پلیس پیگیری» با او تماس گرفته بودند تا «برای توضیح و چند سئوال» به این مرکز حکومتی مراجعه کند، دیگر نتوانست تحمل کند و ۳۰ آذر ۱۴۰۲ جان باخته و در آرامستان «وادی رحمت» تبریز به خاک سپرده شده است.
