Approximately 20 days after her child's arrest, Somayeh Afshar was detained by security forces in February 2026. During the judicial proceedings of her case, Ms. Afshar faced charges related to participating in protests, disturbing public order, and acting against security, and was ultimately sentenced to five years in prison by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan.
