Alireza was born into a wealthy and relatively prosperous family in Tehran. He studied electronics at Ariyamehr University of Technology. He was among the main officials of the Mujahedin. He was arrested in 1971, and after enduring severe torture, he was released with the 1978 revolution. Alireza was arrested again in 1982 with his pregnant wife. After enduring brutal torture and long solitary confinement, he was executed by death row in September 1988.
