Amir Hossein Moradi

Amirhossein Moradi was arrested by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence on April 10, 2020, and transferred to solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, which is under the control of this security agency.

He and Ali Younesi, another academically distinguished student of Sharif University of Technology, have reportedly spent more than six years in prison without being granted even a single day of furlough.

In the summer of 2025, Amirhossein Moradi was sentenced by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to 15 months of imprisonment as a ta'zir sentence on the charge of “propaganda against the regime” in a new case.

On September 18, 2026, it was reported that security forces had raided Ward 7 of Evin Prison and transferred six political prisoners, including Amirhossein Moradi, to an undisclosed location.
